The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) wants to strengthen its partnership with community members who are frequently visiting long-term care facilities and recognizes the important role of hospice workers working in long-term care settings. Ombudsmen understand hospice employees often observe cause for concern but are not sure with whom they should share those observations. They may be concerned by things that patients tell them, attitudes or statements made by staff, behaviors or patterns of calls associated with a facility, or things they witness that are not directly related to their resident receiving hospice care. 

 LTCOP has developed a the LTOCP Community Advocate training which makes clear how to refer those concerns to an ombudsman. Please encourage your staff to attend or have this training be a part of your staff training on Friday, October 21^st 8:00-9:00am. No registration is required.
