No-Pay RAP & Notice of Admission- How to be Successful

Thursday, September 9, 2021
12:00 – 1:30pm MT
Member Pricing: $150
Non-Member Pricing: $225

Webinar Overview:

The most significant change agencies have experienced with billing in 2021 is the timely submission requirement for the Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP) and associated penalty.   The coming Notice of Admission (NOA) in 2022 is the next big issue. RAPs have no associated reimbursement in 2021 but carry a monetary penalty if not filed timely and the same will be true for the NOA. The NOA potentially carries a more significant penalty punch and agencies must be prepared.  This session will review some of the key areas of concern with both and guide agencies to compliance.

Objectives:

  • Review current claims processing issues log at the Medicare MAC and identify how agencies can track their issues
  • Review statistics regarding the No Pay RAP
  • Outline penalty and how agencies monitor
  • Review the details for NOA regulation from the Proposed Final Rule
  • Review Claims Processing Manual for Updates
  • Detail the plan of attack for agencies to succeed with NOA implementation in 2022

The Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) Model was a 5-year demonstration that ended in 2020.  This demonstration was active in 9 states.  CMS has announced that HHVBP will be implemented nationwide effective January 2022.  There are some slight changes to the measures that will be utilized in the program moving forward.  As a demonstration, HHVBP, was very effective at saving the Medicare system millions.  This webinar will review the Home Health 2022 Proposed Rule regarding the HHVBP nationwide rollout and make suggestions for agencies to smoothly transition into this model.  Statistics and experiences from the demonstration will be reviewed.  HHVBP rewards HHAs that provide better quality care per outcomes, while agencies with poor outcomes could see reductions in payments.

  • Review results from FL during the HHVBP Demo
  • Review the changes to the measures included in HHVBP

The 3 V’s: Vaccines, Vaccinations and Variants

Live Webcast

Thursday, September 16, 2021

This event is free to members and is $50 for non-members

As variant strains for SARS-CoV-2 continue to rise (we now have at least 15 genetic variants), the importance of vaccination and understanding vaccine efficacy become more significant.

Recently, the CDC & World Health Organization have established new threat levels for COVID-19 variants. The levels are:

  • A variant of interest has caused discrete clusters of infections in the United States or in other countries, or seems to be driving a surge in cases. It also has gene changes that suggest it might be more contagious or that may help it to escape immunity conferred by natural infection or vaccination. Therapeutics and tests may not work as well against it. The CDC is watching three of these.
  •  A variant of concern has been proven through scientific research to be more contagious or to cause more severe disease. It may also reduce the effectiveness of therapeutics and vaccines. People who have previously had COVID-19 may become reinfected by the new strain. The CDC is tracking five of these.
  • A variant of high consequence causes more severe disease and greater numbers of hospitalizations. It has also been shown to defeat medical countermeasures, such as vaccines, antiviral drugs, and monoclonal antibodies. So far, none of the variants meets this definition.

Join us for a lively discussion on the following topics:

  • Current Vaccines
  • Differences between the vaccines
  • Side effects/efficacy
  • Vaccine hesitancy
  • COVID-19 Variants

Length of Program: Approx. 60 minutes
